Where there’s a wheel there’s a way!September 7, 2017
The International Wheelchair Sports Exchange is moving forward. The dates of the project have been settled: wheels will be rolling from November 19th and December 1st in Siem Reap! We are delighted to welcome Tristan Barféty and Laurent Goubier from the Stade Toulousain Rugby Handisport Club; Ishank Ahuja and Pradeep Kumar from the Delhi Warriors; Raphaël Gripont and Olivier Mathieu from the Montpellier Handi Rugby Club and finally Chrib Ngov, Sreymom Ek, Chenda Tor and Sokchan Sieng from the Battambang ladies wheelchair basketball team. All 10 players will exchange their skills and passion with the wheelchair sports players from the newly created wheelchair sports centre in Siem Reap.
All this has been made possible thanks to our many benefactors. We succeeded raising the total amount we were targeting in our crowdfunding campaign thanks to you, your support and your generosity!
We also would like to thank our corporate sponsors Bommidala Group and M1nd-Set who gave us their trust to raise awareness about disability. We have also seen strong support from local businesses here in Siem Reap, Cambodia. Rosy’s Guest House hosted a pub quiz and raffle for which scores of businesses in the city donated prizes to help raise funds. Ivy Guesthouse in Siem Reap has selected the Soulcial Trust’s XLability project as one of their favorite charities and organizes quizzes every month on our behalf. And thirdly Fat Panda’s café dedicated its monthly fundraising in August to XLability and contributed a significant amount to the total funds raised.
